Born in France, Nicolas Auvray spent years living in various countries (USA, China, Austria, Australia, and Singapore), and now resides in New York City since 2005. He has been a photographer for 25 years and studied at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York, where he continues to collaborate. He primarily uses medium and large format analogue cameras and prints in traditional darkrooms, both in Paris and New York. In 2015, a selection of his work entered the photography collection of the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF).
