ABOUT

The Painters Project is an ongoing exploration at the intersection of painting, photography, and the human form. Belgian artist and fashion photographer Eric Ceccarini brings together painters and some of the finest models he has collaborated with throughout his career, creating a unique dialogue between disciplines.

Each collaboration challenges painters to step into the unknown: a living, breathing canvas with dynamic light, shifting shadows, and subtle movements that influence every stroke. The body, the pose, and the art converge for a fleeting moment, blending distinct artistic perspectives into a cohesive visual expression. This unorthodox partnership transforms the ephemeral and volatile nature of paint on skin into images that are captured and immortalized through Ceccarini’s lens.

Since its inception, over 100 collaborations have taken place with artists from across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and beyond. Each painter contributes their own style, while Ceccarini guides the process with his camera, resulting in a fusion of vision, energy, and movement. The series transcends mere physical representation, capturing the essence and soul of the models, and demonstrating the magic that emerges when two art forms harmonize.

Eric Ceccarini, born in 1965 in Belgium, trained in photography at INFAC, Brussels (1987), and has since worked extensively in fashion photography, collaborating with leading fashion houses worldwide. With The Painters Project, he brings his expertise and artistic sensibility to a broader exploration of collaboration, movement, and human expression.
