Isabel Aguera & Anne Manoli

Saturday, April 11, 2026, 3–5pm

On the occasion of Earth Reborn, a duo exhibition of new paintings, Nicolas Auvray Gallery is pleased to present a conversation between Paris-based artists Isabel Aguera and Anne Manoli.

Bringing together two distinct yet resonant practices, Earth Reborn explores an embodied relationship to nature through painting. Aguera and Manoli each approach the medium as a site of transformation—where gesture, memory, and material process converge to produce forms that feel at once immediate and evolving.

During the conversation, the artists will discuss their respective approaches to painting as a living language shaped by time, intuition, and physical engagement. Aguera’s work often begins with a central figurative presence that gradually dissolves into fluid, gestural landscapes, guided by chance and experimentation. Manoli, by contrast, constructs her surfaces through accumulation—layering, engraving, and reworking material to evoke geological formations and organic matter in states of continuous change.

Both artists, trained at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and shaped by extensive exhibition histories, have developed practices that foreground the act of painting as an open, dynamic process. Their dialogue offers insight into how contemporary painting can articulate a deep, sensorial connection to the natural world while remaining rooted in the physicality of its own making.

This event is free and open to the public.
