BIOGRAPHY
Born in Alicante, Spain, Carlos studied architecture in Alicante, Ljubljana, and Shanghai before fully transitioning into his artistic career. His background in architecture deeply influences his approach, as seen in his ability to navigate spatial relationships and structural balance through fluid, continuous linework.
Over the past two years, Carlos has gained recognition as a mural artist, creating large-scale works for institutions such as the London School of Economics, Montcalm East Hotel, and Citypoint. His practice has also expanded into digital art, animation, and live performance, where he brings his drawings to life in real time, engaging audiences with his dynamic process.
Carlos Peñalver on his process: “My drawings are my space to make mistakes. To experiment. Big drawings made of many smaller ideas where all things I think of take place. All forms. Unconstrained. The characters. Desires… Like book margin annotations. Secrets within drawings. Memories.”
